THE annual Michaelmas Breeding Sheep Sale took place in Malton last Friday.

The judge for the day was Richard Clifford, of Sledmere Farms, and Pearsons & Ward Solicitors sponsored the sale.

Hazel Anyon, agricultural solicitor, Philip Taylor, head of residential conveyancing and Emma Mennell, paralegal, attended the event to present the rosettes to the champions.

Hazel Anyon said: “Pearsons & Ward is committed to supporting local farmers and businesses in the area and the sponsorship of the Show is a great example of this."

Philip Taylor added: “This show is a large event for the local community and we are delighted that Pearsons & Ward have been involved."

The R Farnell Memorial Trophy for the champion Suffolk Ram in the show was awarded to JT & EA Midgley, Uncleby, for his ram lamb, which was later sold to J Malthouse, Hackness, for 440 guineas.

The WA Cundall Perpetual Challenge cup for the champion Texel Ram in the show was awarded to PB Fox & Son Elvington, which was later sold to RG Brader, Thixendale, for 680 guineas.

The Boulton & Cooper Perpetual Challenge Trophy for the champion Charollais Ram in the show was awarded to C Marwood & Sons, Whenby.
