A CARE facility in Norton has celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Deansfield Court welcomed the mayors of Malton and Norton and a 24-piece ukulele band from Thornton-le-Dale to celebrate.
There was also a tombola and a tabletop sale for visitors to enjoy.
Scheme manager Danny Watson said: “It is great to be able to do something like this for the residents; it makes an enormous difference for them by having something really special to look forward to.
“We run many activities through the week but celebrating this marvellous building that is now 10 years old is something they have all been excited about.”
Vera Fletcher, a 97-year-old resident who has lived at Deansfield Court for 10 years, celebrated by cutting a birthday cake in her honour.
The Deansfield Court is for older residents with health issues which makes living in their own homes more difficult but may not need full residential care.
Danny said: “It’s a popular scheme and we’re sending out applications forms every day to people who are interested.”
