A HOLLYWOOD actor is opening an acting school in Pickering.

Christopher Torretto, who has performed in more than 40 leading roles and recently featured in the BBC One series The Capture, wants children and adults to explore performance skills and acting for television.

Having trained with some of the world’s best coaches, Christopher, who runs Northern Elite Acting Studio, is offering classes for beginners to experts looking to improve their skills.

“We want to make this acting school personal to Pickering, rather than a franchise,” he said.

“I want to develop a new generation of quality British actors, as Britain has a growing future in the world of television and film and those outside of the major areas like London or Manchester deserve the light shone on them. The people of Pickering and its surrounding villages deserve somewhere that is accessible and affordable.”

Christopher’s acting record includes 29 films in 20 months, travelling the UK, walking the red carpets of Hollywood and interviews with magazines and radio stations throughout the world.

Northern Elite Acting Studio has already opened a successful acting school in Leeds, which focuses on character development, script writing, acting for camera and industry training.

Using his own experiences and teachings, Christopher wants to bring authentic and personalised training to those who want to get into film and TV.

Christopher added: “We eventually want to create three short films and a feature film in the Pickering area involving local businesses and, of course, our talented students.

“This is a very positive development for The Northern Elite Acting Studio and brings a touch of Hollywood back to the UK.”

The classes are priced at £25 for a two hour session at the Quakers Meeting Hall in Pickering.

The sessions are either Friday from 4pm to 6pm, for children aged five to 12, or a Sunday, from 4pm to 6pm, for teenagers and adults.
