CUNDALLS held its annual first show and sale of gimmer lambs and breeding sheep at Wombleton last Thursday.

There was a particularly high turn-out of buyers in all departments with a near 100 per cent clearance of stock entered.

Prices of the breeding sheep were a little better than last year with the Mule shearlings averaging £6/head better than last year, and with the prizewinning pen at £145 some £23 better than last year.

The mule gimmer lambs finished the day averaging £76.00 very much in line with last years price.

The coveted Peter Woodall Salver for the best pen of Mule gimmer lambs was retained by Breck House Enterprises, whose lambs later sold for a very respectful £145. With the continued difficult trade in the finished lamb market store lambs were a little harder to place than last year, but finished a very respectable average just £2 down on last year.
