MALTON is celebrating success in the annual Yorkshire in Bloom competition.
The results have just been announced recently and Malton was awarded a gold medal excelling in the three core pillars of Horticulture, Environment and Community. Achievement and were declared category winners in the class for small towns. The judges agreed that the Malton volunteers are working very hard to enhance their beautiful town and their achievements so far have been excellent, coming a long way in a relatively short space of time. Floral displays around the town created a real wow factor and judges noted the continued support of the businesses around the town for the In Bloom campaign. Students at Malton School impressed with their knowledge and enthusiasm and the planting at the station was colourful, creating a warm welcome to travellers.
