Arsonists blamed for bale fire at Blakey Ridge
ARSONISTS are believed to have set fire to a heather bale in the Blakey Ridge area last night.
A crew from Kirkbymoorside were called at 7pm to reports of a fire in the open.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said:”Crews extinguished a fire to a heather bale, using one hose reel jet. Game keepers in the area had extinguished a further two prior to arrival of fire crew. Believed deliberate.”
