STUDENTS across Ryedale are celebrating their A-level results this morning.

The sixth-formers at Malton School, Norton College and Lady Lumley's School in Pickering all received their results after months of hard work.

At Malton School friends, Bethany Forbes, Zoe Sargent and Ellie Smith were looking forward to celebrating.

Zoe said: I'm pleased with my grades and I am now going to university to study Rural Enterprise and Land Management."

Ellie added: "I am pleased as well and I am going to take a gap year in Canada."

At Norton College, Bradley Thompson and Alice Stubbings are both going to study law.

Alice, who is going to Durham, said:"I am really pleased that I got the grades I needed."

Lady Lumley's headteacher Richard Bramley, said: "Today has been a very special day at Lady Lumley’s School and, more specifically, a fantastic celebration of success in the sixth form.

"Our students have maintained high outcomes against a range of performance measures and we are absolutely delighted for all of them on their wonderful achievements.

"Our students are moving on to a number of broad and appropriate pathways, with the vast majority of our students beginning university courses at their first choice institutions - many at top establishments – or securing apprenticeships, including those at degree level.

"We are delighted with our 100 per cent pass rate at A Level standard including, once again, over half of all our entries graded A*-B."

Phil Loftus, head teacher at Norton College, said: “The college is known for being really clear about its mission - to give all students the opportunity to secure a place at University or secure a career of their choice and for the Class of 2018 it is mission accomplished."
