BLACK Dyke Band are rounding the summer off in style with a performance at Scarborough Spa on Saturday, August 31 at 7.30pm.

Black Dyke were the first Brass Band to perform on the pyramid stage at Glastonbury in 2017, where Ed Balls in his review for the Guardian rated their performance as his highlight of the weekend.

They are the most successful contesting band ever having won the National Brass Band Championships, the British Open Championships and the European Brass Band Championships more times than any other band.

The band is also the most recorded Brass Band in history having recorded over 150 CDs.

They have also recorded with the likes of The Beatles, Elton John, Lesley Garrett, Tori Amos and Peter Gabriel with whom they were nominated for an Oscar for their part in the song ‘That’ll Do’ from the film ‘Babe 2, A Pig in The City’.

Black Dyke has also toured more countries than any other Brass Band, as well as visiting most of Europe and the United States, the band has also toured parts of Africa for the British Council as well as Australia.

This October they will be returning to Japan for the third time in four years.
