THIS year’s 1st Helmsley Beavers camp had a definite interstellar flavour.
The space-themed camp saw the group loaned a children space suit from the UK Space Agency.
The weekend included more traditional outdoor activities like hiking and pitching tents, but these were complemented by an astronauts’ obstacle course, space hopper races, and a moon rock hunt.
In the evening they enjoyed a campfire and roasted marshmallows.
A group spokesman said: “The beavers thought the space suit was amazing.
“At the closing ceremony they all graduated from space camp as the flag was lowered.”
