YOUNG farmers from Ryedale were among the winners at the annual county rally at Thirsk Auction Mart.
One of the highlights was Snainton member Martha Corney winning the honour of having her design on the cover of next year’s 2020 Yorkshire YFC Handbook.
Other Ryedale successes were a win for the district’s men’s tug-of-war team. Also among the winners was Kate Cockerill, from Kirkbymoorside YFC, taking second place in the junior beef judging and Rebecca Richardson, of Rillington, taking eighth place in the senior beef judging. Rebecca also took second place in the female tractor handling, with fellow Rillington member James Taylor taking eighth place in the male tractor handling category.
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society Rosebowl, for the club with the highest marks overall, was awarded to Farnley Estate. Silsden with Skipton took second place, with Wensleydale coming in third.
