Road closed after crash
THE A171 between Scarborough and Whitby has been closed following an accident.
It has happened near to the junction to Harwood Dale. Traffic is currently being diverted via the A170 and A169.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "The road is likely to remain closed for some time. Please avoid the area whilst emergency services respond."

We are dealing with a collision on the A171 near to the junction to Harwood Dale between Scarborough and Whitby.

Diversion is via the #A170 and #A169.
The spokesman added that an earlier accident on the A169 near Fylingdales had now been cleared.
