A HELMSLEY deli has created a special bonnet as part of the town’s Easter celebrations – and it’s totally edible.

The market town is running an Easter Bonnet Trail until April 28, with visitors having to match the bonnet to the business for the chance to win a prize.

Hunters of Helmsley has a Belgian chocolate bonnet in its shop window, which will be raffled off, raising money for a local cause.

Raffle tickets can be purchased from Hunters, priced £2. A winner will be drawn at random on April 29, with all the funds raised going to the Helmsley Christmas Lights fund.

Christine Garnett, who owns Hunters of Helmsley with husband Chris, said: “We love to get involved in the trails and events organised by the Helmsley in Business group, as it’s great to be able to offer something extra to visitors. We decided to go all out with the Easter bonnet – it may look too good to eat, but it will taste delicious, as all Linda’s amazing creations do, One lucky winner will be able to choose whether to wear it or eat it – but I think I know which I’d go for.”
