A UKULELE group has raised £4,450 in aid of Alzheimers Society.
The Thornton-le-Dale group raises money for various charities and this year the Alzheimer’s Society was the beneficiary of some of the funds raised at a concert at the Kirk Theatre in Pickering.
Leah Bull, community fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in North Yorkshire, said: “We are so grateful to the Thornton-le-Dale Ukulele Strummers for their tremendous fundraising efforts. We’re facing an incredible challenge; one person every three minutes develops dementia and there is no cure.
“We’re here to change that but we need more groups like this one to join us as we take on dementia together.”
