TEN pupils from Terrington Hall School have been invited to attend the North Yorkshire Cross Country finals at Dalby Forest.

The pupils earned their places following successful trials at Ryedale’s District Cross Country event on February 6, hosted by Lady Lumley’s School.

Of the team of 12 Terrington Hall runners, 10 came in within the first eight places in their events, thus qualifying for the finals at Dalby Forest on March 26.

Terrington Hall cross country coach Stuart Keens said: “We are especially proud of our Ryedale District Cross Country champions, Annabel Roberts (Year 4), Theo Cross (Year 5) and Harriet Roberts (Year 6) who all secured first place in their events.”

Pupils have also recorded their best results ever in the school’s annual cross country meet, this year attended by 14 schools in the region.

The school’s under nines girls’ team won first place, the under 11s girls second place and the under 13s girls third place.

Notable individual placings included: first place for Annabel Roberts in the under nines girls’ event, with Emily Rycroft securing third; third place for Harriet Roberts in the under 11s girls’ event; third place for Theo Cross in the under 11s boys’ event; and third place for Tom Ellerker in the under 13s boys’ event.
