A YELLOW warning for very strong winds in North Yorkshire on Sunday has been issued by the Met Office.

Forecasters say Storm Freya will bring travel disruption and possibly dangerous conditions late on Sunday and into Monday.

They have warned that injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible, buildings and trees could be damaged and there is a risk of power cuts, potentially affecting other services such as mobile phone coverage.

Heavy rain is also expected on Sunday afternoon and evening. The weather will be in stark contrast to last Sunday, when people basked in unseasonably warm sunshine.
