ST Leonard’s Hospice in York has a new chief executive.

Emma Johnson was educated at York’s Joseph Rowntree School and has worked at the hospice as director of clinical services since 2012.

Prior to this Emma has had a long career in the NHS, spending 15 years working in the NHS hospitals in Leeds and working in senior nursing positions in surgery, neuro sciences, gastroenterology and critical care and has also worked as a clinical educator and directorate manager.

David Dickson, chairman of the board of trustees, said: “We believe that Emma’s career to date has provided her with considerable skills and relevant experience which will make her an excellent leader for St Leonard’s.”

Emma said: “I am very proud to be offered the opportunity to lead St Leonard’s, a charity that has an excellent reputation in the community.”
