RYEDALE District Council (RDC) is encouraging residents to have their say on its budget and the services they provide for 2019/20 as part of its budget consultation.

The consultation seeks the views of residents and businesses about the services delivered by the council.

The results will be presented to councillors before they take any financial decisions about the budget for 2019-20 and beyond.

Cllr Luke Ives, the chairman of the RDC’s policy and resources committee said: “It is likely that our funding from government will reduce in future years and we are keen to ensure the services that you want within the resources we have.

“We are constantly looking at how we can make the best use of our resources.

“I would encourage Ryedale residents to complete the consultation to have their say to help shape the budget proposals put forward to councillors.”

The results of the consultation, which runs until Monday, January 28, will inform the decision to be made by RDC on Thursday, February 21 on the budget and council tax level for 2019/20.

The survey can be completed online atryedale.gov.uk/budget or paper copies can be collected from the Ryedale District Council offices on Old Malton Road.
