ENJOY a musical journey around the world when The Hut People arrive at the Milton Rooms in Malton on Saturday, December 8 at 7pm.

Sam Pirt and Gary Hammond are one of the best-loved and entertaining acts operating in today’s UK folk scene.

Mixing global rhythms with folk tunes from Quebec to Spain, Scandinavia to Sussex and everywhere in between, this is a quirky celebration of our rich musical heritage.

Merryn Wilderspin, chair of trustees at the Milton Rooms, said: “This is a show for music lovers - expect feel-good dancing tunes, audience participation, step dancing and lots of humour.

She added: “The Hut People are one of the most entertaining acts on the circuit and I am sure one which the audience will hope we bring back again and again.”

Last year, The Hut People release their fourth studio album on the Fellside label and also supported award-winning trio The Young’uns on their 21-date nationwide tour – gaining an army of new fans up and down the country.

The Scotsman said of the Hut People: “This is a brilliantly unique sound – a duo of piano accordion and percussion defiantly unbounded by British traditions as they stride into world music.”
