A MOTORCYCLIST is in a serious-but-stable condition in Leeds General Infirmary after a crash near Malton at the weekend.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said that the collision was between a motorcyclist riding an orange KTM motorcycle and the driver of a white Skoda Octavia.

It happened on the B1257 at Amotherby and was reported at 7.46am on Saturday morning.

The spokesman said: "The injured rider is a 31-year-old man from the Filey area. He is in a serious but stable condition at Leeds General Infirmary."

The driver of the Skoda, a 39-year-old man from Sunderland, was uninjured.

The road was re-opened at around 11am following recovery of vehicles and examination of the collision scene.
