ENJOY the timeless music of Cat Stevens at a concert in Malton which is also raising money for a charity helping children in Syria.
Singer and songwriter Keith James will perform classics such as Father and Son, Wild World and Moonshadow at the Milton Rooms, Malton, on Tuesday, October 16, at 7.30pm.
Proceeds from the evening and audience donations will go to the UNICEF UK Syrian Children’s appeal.
James will weave the story of Cat Stevens’ life from his early pop career, life-threatening illness and spiritual journey around a performance of his most memorable songs.
The Milton Rooms will also be turning back the clock to for a pair of concerts to celebrate Pickering’s Railway in Wartime weekend.
Sentimental Journey will play music from the 1940s on Friday, October 12 with dances featured including the Lindy Hop, ballroom, square tango, sequence and much more.
Vintage dress is welcomed, but not essential.
And then, on Saturday, October 13, it is the turn of Hep to the Jive. The Yorkshire-based swing band promise to recreate classic, crowd-pleasing songs from some of the biggest names in popular music. Both concerts begin at 7.30pm.
