The CPS has dropped charges against three people arrested during anti-fracking protests near Kirby Misperton last autumn.

Edward Charles Timothy Thornton, 34, of Middleton, near Pickering, was charged with obstructing a police officer and endangering road users on October 9.

The offences related to an incident involving a pallet tower.

Matthew Robert Trevelyan, 39, of Spaunton near Kirkbymoorside, was charged with hindering employees from going about their lawful business in connection with a lorry in Kirby Misperton on November 9.

Angela Elizabeth Ditchfield, 39, of Walker Court, Cambridge, was charged with besetting a place to stop a lawful act at the Third Energy site off Habton Road, Kirby Misperton on November 14.

All three denied the charges. After the CPS announced it would not be pursuing the cases against them they were all formally acquitted.
