FOUR teenagers were arrested following a lengthy police chase in North Yorkshire.
The men - aged 15, 16, 18 and 19 - were arrested after North Yorkshire Police gave chase to a suspected stolen BMW in Seamer, near Scarborough, at about 8.25pm on Friday.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said the cars had come "screaming past us at Wykeham", before running a red light through roadworks at Snainton and making away.
The pursuit eventually included four police cars and a police helicopter, and lasted more than 35 minutes. It travelled through Ryedale and Nawton before police used a stinger to stop the vehicle on the B1257 close to Stokesley.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said nobody was injured in the pursuit, and the four teenagers were arrested and taken into custody at Northallerton before being handed over to Nottinghamshire Police, who were investigating the theft of the car.
