PRIMARK'S huge new Monks Cross store is opening in just under a month's time.
A countdown clock on the company's own website shows that the new store is due to open on Saturday, May 7 at 10am.
The opening will come nearly three years after the company first got planning approval for the out-of-town site, in August 2013.
The company is now recruiting for front of house and back office staff for the Monks Cross branch, with more than a dozen different jobs advertised on its website.
The huge new store will cover more than 57,000 sq m in units formerly occupied by Marks and Spencer, Laura Ashley and Sports Direct.
The company has not confirmed an opening date for the smaller Coppergate store, currently under renovations, but in early March planning applications went in for signage on both the city centre and out-of-town locations.
