A LORRY driver has been treated for smoke inhalation after his vehicle caught fire in North Yorkshire this morning.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews were called out from Malton to tackle the blaze on a Ford Transit flat bed wagon on the B1257 at Swinton, near Malton, at 9.07am.
A spokeswoman said the lorry was well alight on the arrival of firefighters, who extinguished it using a hose reel jet.
She said crews gave the driver first aid and oxygen until paramedics arrived to give treatment and check him over, but it was not clear at this stage whether he needed hospital treatment.
