SCARECROWS of all shapes and sizes could be spotted in Thornton-le-Dale at the weekend.
The third annual Scarecrow Festival took place from Saturday to Monday.
Alison Skinner, one of the organisers, said this year had been the best one yet. She said: "The village was packed all weekend, it has been full of people who have come to see the scarecrows. We have had a really good and successful festival."
There were 62 official entries.
The Hall care home won first prize for its scarecrow, which was an elderly lady with a zimmer frame, and elsewhere children made their own scarecrows. There was even an entry from outside the village – from Scotts of Helmsley.
Alison said: "There has been a great community atmosphere and more people have come forward to help this year, which has been great and we would like to thank all those who took part and helped over the weekend."
