STUNTS, costumes and horses were all part of the fun at a North Yorkshire stately home’s annual May Bank Holiday celebration.

The Duncombe Park Country Fair, held in the grounds of the Helmsley estate yesterday, included an appearance from Riders of the Storm, one of the youngest touring stunt teams in the UK who travelled from Perthshire in Scotland to perform an array of acrobatics and vaults on horseback.

The day also included the Dingle Fingle clown show which told the tale of an undercover policeman’s search for classic car thief Slippery Sid, and the Mount Grace Gundogs led by professional trainer Les Dixon.

A mini Grand National, farmers market, fancy dress competition on horseback, gymkhana, terrier and ferret shows and a clay pigeon shoot were also among the activities at the fair, which has been running since 1982.
