TWO motorcyclists were hurt in separate road accidents in North Yorkshire this afternoon.

North Yorkshire Police said a motorcyclist was taken to hospital, suffering from a suspected broken hand, after a collision with a car in Kirkgate, Sherburn-in-Elmet, at about 3.55pm.

Another suffered a possible injury to a shoulder in an accident on the A64 near Bilbrough, between York and Tadcaster, at about 3.24pm. No other vehicle was involved.

Police said no one was hurt in a collision between two cars in Ampleforth at 3.48pm, but one of the drivers was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
