AN ELECTRICITY substation in a North Yorkshire town was damaged after fire spread from a burning scooter to the building.
Fire crews from Scarborough dealt with the flames in Colescliffe Road, in the Barrowcliff area of the resort, just after 6pm on Wednesday.
The fire had spread from the burning scooter to two recycling bins and then to the substation, causing minor damage to its roof.
The cause is not yet known.
