A new drama - airing on ITV at the moment, and from the producers of the wildly popular Happy Valley  - was filmed in Stockton. 

The production crew was spotted filming at Tees Barrage, in Stockton in June of last summer. 

Being televised at the moment, after the Flood is a mystery thriller set in a town hit by a devastating flood.

Now, eagle-eyed ITV viewers have spotted Teesside in the compelling drama, written by BAFTA-nominated writer and actor Mick For, who is known for his work on Stay Close, Living the Dream and The Stranger.

Pictures taken by Northern Echo Camera Club member Brian Swales show star Sophie Rundle helping a man and a baby that he has rescued from a submerged car in a flooded river.

After discovering an unidentified man dead in a lift in an underground car park police assume he became trapped as the waters rose, and as the investigation unfolds PC Joanna Marshall, played by Sophie Rundle, becomes obsessed with discovering what happened to him.

The mystery unfolds across the series while we also see the real impact of climate change on the lives of residents in this small town.

The floods threaten to expose secrets, and fortunes and reputations are at stake.

Sophie Rundle (Gentleman Jack, Peaky Blinders) plays police officer Joanna Marshall, Philip Glenister (Belgravia, Life on Mars) takes on the role of property developer Jack Radcliffe and Lorraine Ashbourne (Sherwood, Bridgerton, I Hate Susie) is playing Jo’s mother, Molly.

Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee, executive producers said: “When Mick Ford brought the kernel of the idea of After the Flood to us, we were immediately drawn in.
