Nick Hardman has completely transformed his home in Leeds into a 3D toy workshop; creating bespoke teddies reflecting a range of medical conditions through interactive toys. His aim is to “take away the fear of medical devices through play.” and for kids to not only gain an understanding of their conditon but embrace it.

Nick’s nonprofit started off as a passion project to make ordinary teddies to sell online. However, when Nick got a request to make a teddy for the parents of a child with a serious medical condition, he took up the challenge and spent hours designing a custom teddy which matched the child’s condition.

Thereafter, Nick’s post obtained over 68,000 views- making him an overnight sensation. Since then, he has received thousands of requests from families in similar circumstances asking him to create custom teddies for their children.

Now with Nick having a fully equipped team and a platform, he has been able to ship out thousands of teddies to disadvantaged kids and even go as far as to diversify the range of teddies he makes. He has made teddies with pace makers, tracheostomies , feeding tubes and even prosthetic limbs!

“The best thing about running the toy factory is the changes you make to a child, you can't put a price on that"

Right now, there are over 600 children who are waiting on one of Nick's teddies; and thanks to the endless support and donations he received, he is able to have a long lasting effect on so many lives.
