PLANS to preserve York’s character have been submitted to the Secretary of State this week.
The Local Development Framework Core Strategy Submission is a planning blueprint for the future of the city, and looks to provide land for employment and business, future housing requirements, and develop effective transport links.
The Core Strategy will next be subject to an examination in public, and the council will have to consider any recommendations made by the Inspector.
Coun Dave Merrett, Cabinet member for City Strategy, City of York Council, said: “This is a key step forward in terms of getting a fully adopted Local Plan for the city.”
Copies of the documents are available for inspection at City of York Council receptions at 9 St Leonard’s Place, Library Square and Guildhall during normal opening hours, at all City of York Council Libraries, and online at york.gov.uk/LDF/corestrategy
