BUSINESSES and residents based in York are invited to make themselves heard on issues affecting the city’s future and question some key stakeholders in the city.

Make-York, the city’s organisation for young professionals, is hosting the Question Time-style event, and has brought together a panel including York Business Forum chairman Adam Sinclair; chairman of trustees at St Leonard’s Hospice, Graham Millar; the Rev Canon Dr Jonathan Draper, York Minster’s Canon Theologian; Jessica Grant, director of Higher York and leader of City of York Council, Liberal Democrat councillor Coun Andrew Waller.

The event, called Make Yourself Heard, is open to all and will give guests the opportunity to submit questions on subjects of importance to York.

Issues including how local businesses can work more effectively with the council, young professionals’ role in the new Local Enterprise Partnership, and the impact of hen and stag parties on the city's reputation, have already been suggested for debate.

Make Yourself Heard will take place at St William’s College, at 6pm on Tuesday, October 12. Tickets cost £12, including a glass of wine on arrival.
