George Lyall, a private client lawyer in the wealth management department at Yorkshire law firm Dickinson Dees LLP, has been named as one of the ‘Top 50 Most Influential’ private client practitioners in his field.

The accolade comes from Private Client Practitioner, the magazine for leading private client professionals.

George joined Dickinson Dees, which has an office in Bishopthorpe Road, York, in 1994 and became partner in 1997. He was head of the private client department at the firm from 1998 until 2005 when he returned to a client handling role.

A lawyer specialising in the taxation of private individuals and capital tax planning issues, George was nominated by his peers for providing not only the best possible service to his clients, but also for providing innovation in the way the needs of the wealthy are met.

He is one of only three private client lawyers in the north of England to receive this prestigious ranking, with most of the rest of the recipients living either in the City of London or abroad.

He said: “I am particularly pleased that competitors, colleagues and clients value the work I do. No doubt my mention is in no small part due to the excellent team I work with.”
