A NEW business centre that was full of tenants within four weeks of opening is entering The Press Business Awards 2012.

Blake House, a Georgian building converted into city centre office space for small businesses in Blake Street, was opened by Wendy Tunnicliffe in January.

After letting out each of its offices 11 months ahead of target, Wendy hopes to be recognised in the New Business Of The Year category.

Wendy said: “I am a true believer that your work environment should inspire you and reflect your business. I wanted glamorous, funky and interesting.”

Wendy said she wanted to create a home for businesses and occupants had said it felt exactly like that, with its courtyard, bath and kitchen complete with washing machine, as well as all the elements needed for businesses, including wi-fi and cordless phones and a meeting room with presentation screen. Its unique warren of different sized rooms, enables it to cater for one-person desks and up to a six-person private office. The centre is also taking virtual tenants, who work from home but need a city-centre address and meeting room.
