ENGLAND Sevens captain Rob Vickerman has joined the rugby union coaching staff at Pocklington School .
The 26-year-old former Leeds Carnegie and Newcastle Falcons centre is based in East Yorkshire and is also youth development officer at Pocklington RUFC .
Vickerman is contracted by England and plays across the globe in the IRB Sevens World Series, but is expected to be heavily involved at Pocklington School in between commitments.
David Byas, the former Yorkshire cricket captain who is the school’s director of sport, said: “Having someone of Rob’s calibre as an addition to our own rugby staff, led by Sean Houltham, reaffirms the school’s intention of delivering rugby to the highest standard possible and I am delighted to have Rob with us.”
He added: “Rob will be at coaching at Pocklington School for a number of sessions through both the Michaelmas and Lent terms and will be assisting with the delivery of rugby across all age groups.”
Vickerman is from Meltonby, near Pocklington.
