I DID enjoy reading the article on Rowntree memories in The Press of July 30, especially the very last paragraph in which Keith Chapman recalled the music room.
I was the lucky teenager whose job it was to choose the records to put on each day. People used to put their request under the door of the music room and I would do my best to play them.
My job included going into a music shop in York and buying the latest pop records, I thought it was brilliant.
Such happy memories.
