YOU reported (Charity amends care home bid, The Press, October 9) that the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI) has submitted revised plans for the controversial Connaught Court development proposal.

I agree with Coun Andy D'Agorne that, as usual, the RMBI is tinkering around the edges.

Throughout the long and sorry saga of this application, the RMBI has sought to do the bare minimum to meet the concerns of the city's planning department. It has done absolutely nothing to meet the concerns of the people of Fulford. I hope the city's planners will continue to be resolute in recommending the application for refusal, as they did earlier this year. It is bad for the York and bad for Fulford.
