WELL said Mr T Cox, in his letter about this council ignoring public opinion.

I liked his idea of asking the council to save things we don’t like as they nearly do the opposite of what the voters actually want (Letters, May 22) Not only was his letter amusing, it was well merited. This council have cut things that people wanted to keep, paid out huge sums of money on totally useless road schemes, but have still found enough cash to pay for a new limo for the mayor.

New buildings, new limo, our councillors are certainly looking after themselves.

The Prime Minister claims that, “we are all in it together”, but it does not apply to our York councillors.

Mr R Keeler, Rainsborough Way, York.
