Mental health charity York Mind put its talented members in focus and in the frame this month.
The organisation hosted a a photography exhibition at the Guildhall featuring pictures taken by participants in its weekly photography group classes, run from the charity’s Clifton Green base.
The images depicted local places of interest including the Minster, the National Railway Museum and the markets and canals of Leeds.
The group caters for adults of all ages who are at risk of social exclusion due to mental health issues. None of the budding snappers had any previous experience of photography, and the sessions focused on fun and social interaction.
The exhibition also featured pictures taken by residents of the Retreat.
Mind’s Ian Savage said: “It’s the creativity of these classes that gives participants a sense of achievement and helps their emotional well-being.
