ONCE upon a time, the Chancellor gave his Budget for things to happen in the following year. The trend now is to play politics by announcing things that will only happen more than 12 months ahead.
Who knows what economic position we will be in at this time next year? Planning ahead is good policy, but please keep the specifics until the exact position is known come next March.
