MAY I urge people to study the small print in tenancy agreements after a recent case of flooding in a block of high-profile city-centre flats run by a charitable housing trust in York.
Tenants who would need to be moved out while work is carried out have discovered that they have to submit a claim for the cost to their own contents insurers.
This incurs a cost thanks to excess charges.
Although a lot of dissatisfaction has been faced by some residents, this has rubbed salt into the wounds for something that was completely out of their control.
Coun Brian Watson, Guildhall ward.
