POLICE have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to a theft from a charity shop.

David Reid, 50, is believed to have information regarding the theft of money from the Barnardo’s shop in Beulah Street, Harrogate, on Sunday, February 27.

Reid is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with dark hair. He has an address in Scarborough, but a police spokesman said he may be anywhere in the country.

PC Richard Coulthard, of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We have made a number of inquiries to locate David Reid. However, these have all proven negative.

“I am appealing to anyone who knows where Mr Reid is currently living to get in touch with the police so that we can speak to him. David, if you see or hear this appeal, I would urge you to make contact so that I can better understand the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the money.”

Anyone with information should contact the police on 101, or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
