KIND-HEARTED Brownies from York have helped to raise money for young carers living in the city.
The 26th York St Wulstan Brownies, based in Fossway, raised £240 for York Young Carers by holding an entertainment evening.
Visitors to St Wulstan’s Church were treated to musical shows, including guitar, recorder, piano and trumpet performances, as well as a poetry recital.
Guests were also able to have refreshments and to buy craft work and home made jams and pickles from stalls.
The Brownies decided to raise money for York Young Carers after hearing how the organisation worked with young people aged from eight to 18, who care for someone else, by offering them advice, friendship and support.
