I AM a regular user of the railway station, cycling there most weeks. For years I’ve parked my bike at the south end of the station, near Platform 1. However, as more people are cycling, the racks are often full, making it difficult for me to find a space. The new access ramps at either end of the station make it even easier to combine cycling and using the train.

Months ago I wrote to the station operators thanking them for the ramps, and raising the problem with cycle parking, and received a nice reply saying they were looking into more cycle parking.

However, yesterday, I couldn’t find anywhere to park my bike, and I locked it to a trolley bay nearby. When I returned, there was a notice taped on to it, telling me off for parking there. So I went again to the office and mentioned the lack of adequate cycle provision. I hope facilities for the growing number of cyclists will be put in as soon as possible. There seems to be plenty of space at the north end of the station. Surely this can’t be too difficult?
