WHEN I saw your headline “Plays to break with tradition” my blood ran slightly cold (The Press, March 14). When I read that the costumes for the mystery plays are to be based on 1940/1950 I was horrified; what on earth are the producers thinking about?
People will be coming from all over the world to see the plays in the wonderful setting of The Museum Gardens and they will expect the costumes similar to the ones in the photograph. Can you imagine our Lord in a double breasted suit, the mind boggles. The producers should have announced the changes before tickets went on sale. I am sorry to say if I had not already reserved my seats I would not be attending.
