SUPER-FAST broadband is becoming available for the first time to homes and businesses in two new areas of York, BT has announced.
Thousands of householders and firms in the Melrosegate and Dringhouses areas will be able to join the high-speed revolution.
The number of premises across North Yorkshire with access has risen to around 91,000, with another 45,000 premises able to benefit later this year. York council leader James Alexander welcomed the announcement, which he said would roughly double download speeds.
