ENTRIES are now being taken for the first British Heart Foundation Golf Day at Allerthorpe Park Golf Club.
The charity event, which will be held on June 28, is open to all amateur men with a playing handicap of 24 or less.
Organiser Delia Smith, who works at the golf club, said: “I thought it was time to use my knowledge of golf to raise money for a charity which is close to me as two of my grandparents have died of the disease.
“I am also a member of the Pocklington and District committee of the British Heart Foundation. The aim is to raise as much money as possible.”
The cost of entering a team of four is £80, which includes golf, halfway house and prizes.
Smith said: “We are also looking for sponsors in the form of prizes for the golf day, raffle or to sponsor a hole for the golf day. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.”
Further information is available by phoning Smith on 01759 306686.
