A Valued volunteer at the British Heart Foundation shop in Goodramgate was presented with a plaque and flowers after retiring from years of service at the Shop.

Dorothy Stacey started volunteering in 1989 and has spent the last 23 years giving up four days a week and undertaking key shop responsibilities.

Vickie Topliss, manager at the Goodramgate shop said: “After 23 years of service we’re all incredibly sad to see Dorothy retire. She has helped make a real difference to the shop and ultimately helped the BHF continue its lifesaving work in the fight against heart disease.

“We rely so much on our volunteers across our network of 700 shops and encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering to ask for details in-store or visit bhf.org.uk/volunteer.”
