LEWIS YOUNG crossed four times and was top tackler in New Earswick All Blacks ARLC under-10s’ fast, end-toend game at Garforth Tigers.

Man-of-the-match Lewis Stephen (2), Ryan Kendra, Joshua Kelly, Ellena Powell, Josh Walton and Taylor McDonough also crossed, while prop Dan Cannon was the most improved player.

The ‘magic moment’ award went to Kelly and Stephen for their break and support play that garnered a fine try.

Man-of-the-match Charlie Nicholson scored a hat-trick in Heworth U10s’ excellent 52-0 win over Swillington.

Kian Oliver also shone and bagged two tries, while new boy Max Davison picked up the ‘magic moment’ award for some great defensive work.

Other try-scorers were top tackler Jak Ostergaard, Luke Prenty, Jensen Brown and Harry Griffiths, with all the touchdowns converted by the try-scorers.

Heworth U9s continued their strong start to the season with a hard-fought win over Castleford Panthers.

Leon Mooring led from the front, supported by the outstanding Callum Rutland, Jack Young and captain Will Spencer, while debutant Josh Atkin-Stone was man of the match. Jak Foster took the ‘magic moment’ award for a fine first try for the club.

Heworth U8s beat Wetherby 8-5 in a high-quality match.

Jay Ogilvie scored three great tries from deep but was pipped for the man-of-thematch award by two-try Oliver Pratt, who was outstanding, making a handful of excellent tackles. George Bradley- Consett and Jake Edgar (2) also crossed, while Eden Martin was top tackler and Josh Smith the most improved.
