YORK Cubs booked their place in the final of the York FA Acaster Steel Junior (Under-12s) Cup with a 6-0 victory over Poppleton Tigers.

Two well-taken goals from Tom Flatters put the Cubs in control in the opening 20 minutes of the semi-final, but bottom of the table hosts Poppleton put up a tremendous showing.

Cubs ran away with it in the second half with two goals from Noah Hindle and strikes from Tom Simms and Ralph Sinclair.

The margin of victory would have been greater but for superb performances from defender Tom Legg and goalkeeper Joe Armstrong.

In the final they will meet Wilberfoss, who beat Heworth 3- 1 on penalties after the last-four tie ended 1-1.

Wilberfoss took the lead 15 minutes from time with a Lewis Stephenson penalty, but Heworth hit back through Oliver Peck.

Then, in the shoot-out, two of the Heworth spot-kicks hit the woodwork.

Both games in the York FA Intermediate (Senior) U15s Minor Cup went to penalties.

Poppleton Tigers beat Wigginton Grasshoppers 4-1 in a shoot-out after a 1-1 draw.

Wiggy led at half-time through Jack Rudkin, but Tigers levelled five minutes after the restart with a Dan Hickey free-kick.

The final of the York FA Senior Minor (U16s) Cup will be between York Cubs and Thorpe United.

Sam Kitson gave Bishopthorpe White Rose the lead against York Cubs, but their opponents hit back to level through Rowan Todd and Kieran Dunlop won it in stoppage time.

Thorpe beat ten-man North Duffield 5-4 on penalties thanks to a save by ’keeper Adam Walters after the tie ended 2-2.

North Duffield led 2-0 at halftime with goals from Kyle Wilks and J P Grenier, but Thorpe hit back through Sam Clayton and Chris Howcroft before Duffield had a man red-carded for dissent.

League leaders Rawcliffe will play Wigginton Grasshoppers in the final of the York FA Under- 19s Cup.

Rawcliffe beat Heworth 5-0 with goals from Callum Ward (2), George Bissett (2) and Robin Jefferson.

Wigginton needed extra time to see off ten-man Harrogate Town 1-0 thanks to a Josh Hutchinson goal.
